Commissioner Short Films Andreas Fock
Andreas Fock, born 1979 and brought up in Åsaka outside of Trollhättan, southern Sweden. He was appointed a Commissioner on 15 January 2013.
Since 2008, Andreas Fock has been responsible for the international launch of Swedish short films at the Swedish Film Institute, and he has amassed in-depth knowledge of Swedish short film and the international world of short films. In his role he has been the contact between Swedish short filmmakers and international film festivals, and has been involved in screenings at festivals including Cannes, Berlin and Sundance and the focus on Swedish short films in New York, Hamburg, Tokyo and other places – more than 250 events a year. Titles which Andreas has worked with include international festival successes such as Johannes Nyholm’s Las Palmas, Jonas Odell’s Lies (Lögner) and Patrik Eklund’s Academy Award nominated Instead of Abracadabra (Istället för abrakadabra).
Andreas has spent the past year living in Switzerland where he has worked in international festival distribution at Langfilm – Bernhard Lang AG, helped select films for the International Short Film Festival Winterthur and organised screenings of short films at cinemas in Zurich and Bern.
