Accessing the collections – non-professional use
Since we do not hold the rights to the films in our collections, we are unable to provide members of the public with viewing copies on dvd or in file format. The Film Institute Library has a wide variety of dvd’s available for loan, read more under the link below.
As a non-professional member of the public you can book viewing copies from the collections for screenings in one of the Film Institute theatres. For more information on the booking of theatres, please contact email@example.com. In addition to the rental fee for the theatre, we charge a handling fee of SEK 700 for feature-length films and SEK 350 for short films. Prints from the collections must be booked at least five days prior to the screening. We will help to locate the rights holder for screening authorization.
In 2016 we hope to offer the possibility of viewing new Swedish films and digitized Swedish heritage films in the Film Institute Library.
The catalogue of our holdings is available on all public computers in the SFI Library. If you are unable to visit our library, please contact us via e-mail or phone.
You are also welcome to submit film requests to Cinemateket for screenings in Stockholm, Göteborg and Malmö.
