Three awards at IDFA

The winners of the various awards in IDFA’s competition programmes were announced on Wednesday evening at the awards ceremony of the 30th edition of IDFA in the Stadsschouwburg in Amsterdam. Two Swedish productions and a Swedish co-production received awards.

A total of eight Swedish films, and one co-production, featured at this year's IDFA, the world's largest documentary film festival. Half of those were in competition and we're proud to announce that two of the Swedish films, and the co-production, received awards:

The IDFA Special Jury Award for Feature-Length Documentary

The Deminer (Sweden) by Hogir Hirori and Shinwar Kamal and produced by Lolav Media and Ginestra Film/Antonio Russo Merenda

The IDFA Special Jury Award for Short Documentary

As We’re Told (Sweden) by Erik Holmström and Fredrik Wenzel and produced by Fasad/Hedvig Lundgren, SVT and Film i Väst.

IDFA Award for Best First Appearance

The Distant Barking of Dogs (Denmark, Sweden, Finland) by Simon Lereng Wilmont, with Swedish co-producer Story/Tobias Janson.
