  1. Nine Swedish films at CPH:DOX

    CPH:DOX in Copenhagen is one of the world's leading documentary film festivals and the complete program for 2018 was released last friday. A total of nine Swedish films will screen, six of which in competition. Two of the films, The Raft by Marcus Lindeen and Giants and the Morning After by Per Bifrost, Malla Grapengiesser and Alexander Rynéus, will have their world premiere at the festival in the main competition “DOX:AWARD”.

  3. The Square nominated for an Oscar

    For the second year in a row a Swedish film has been nominated for an Oscar in the Best Foreign Language Film category.

  4. Becoming Astrid to screen at Berlinale Special Gala

    Becoming Astrid by Pernille Fischer Christensen has been selected to screen in the Berlinale Special Gala section at the Berlin International Film Festival, 15-25 February.

  5. Winners of the 2018 Guldbagge Awards

    At an awards ceremony, held at Cirkus in Stockholm and broadcasted live, the winners of the Guldbagge Awards 2018 were crowned. The Nile Hilton Incident received five awards, followed by Sámi Blood with three awards, including the Guldbaggen Audience Award. The Square and Borg/McEnroe received two awards each. 

  6. The Real Estate to compete at Berlin Film Festival

    Måns Månsson and Axel Petersén’s The Real Estate has been selected in Competition (Official Selection) at the Berlin International Film Festival.

  7. Alexander Skarsgård wins Golden Globe

    On Monday Alexander Skarsgård was awarded a Golden Globe for his role in the HBO-hit Big Little Lies. This makes him the first Swede to get a Golden Globe since 1988. He is also the first Swedish actor to be awarded in a TV category. 

  8. Nominations for the 2017 Guldbagge Awards

    At a press conference in Stockholm today the nominations for the Guldbagge Awards for the film year of 2017 were announced. Borg/McEnroe stands out with ten nominations, followed by The Nile Hilton Incident with eight. Ravens and Sámi Blood both have seven nominations. The Guldbagge Awards is arranged by the Swedish Film Institute and will be held on 23 January.

  9. Swedish Feature Jimmie to open Rotterdam Film Festival

    Jimmie, in which director Jesper Ganslandt and his son Hunter play the leading roles, is opening the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) in January, a festival considered one of the most important worldwide.

  10. Alba August for European Shooting Star 2018

    The European Film Promotion Jury has selected Alba August as one of the 10 European Shooting Stars for 2018. Alba August plays Astrid Lindgren in Becoming Astrid, due for release next year.
