
Commissioner for short film Ami Ekström
Ami Ekström is Commissioner for short film and new formats, as of 7 January 2019.
Ami Ekström was born in Gothenburg and attended drama school before she went on to study Film Production at Högskolan Väst in Trollhättan.
Straight after completing the university programme she was hired by Film i Väst, where she had several areas of responsibility, the last being senior executive for short film and documentary co-productions. The position included being part of the Film i Väst's production group.
Ami has been the co-producer on several of the most highly rated short films and documentaries of recent years: Kasper Collin's I Called Him Morgan, You Are Teddybears by John Boisen and Björn Fävremark, the several times festival awarded short film Ten Meter Tower and the Guldbagge award nominated Studio 5, both by Axel Danielson and Maximilien Van Aertryck, as well as the Guldbagge winners Niki Lindroth von Bahr's My Burden and Reconstructing Utøya by Carl Javér.
Lastly, Ami Ekström has also been the co-producer on the audience successes The Unthinkable (Den blomstertid nu kommer) by Crazy Pictures and The Cake General by Filip Hammar and Fredrik Wikingsson.
