Anette Novak takes office as new CEO of the Swedish Film Institute
Today, Anette Novak takes over as the new CEO of the Swedish Film Institute.
– It is with great joy and just as much humility that I take on this task, says Anette Novak.
Prior to joining the Film Institute Anette Novak worked as the director and agency head of The Swedish Media Council, which among other things is responsible for the Swedish film classification. Anette Novak has also worked as the Swedish Government’s appointed investigator for the Media review as well as CEO for the public IT and design research institute RISE Interactive Institute.
Anette Novak is a trained journalist and has had several management positions within the area over the years, including editor-in-chief and publisher for the Swedish newspaper Norran in Skellefteå, as well as being a member of different boards, such as the organisation Tidningsutgivarna, Sveriges Radio and Schibsteds owner foundation.
– More Swedes chose to see Swedish film during 2021 compared to the previous year – despite the pandemic and the digital transformation. This is thanks to amazing contributions from all of you who work in the film industry. I am looking forward to listening, learning and alongside all the powerful forces inside as well as outside the Film House continue to develop opportunities and create the best conditions for new successes, Anette Novak concludes.
Anette Novak succeeds Anna Serner, who left her post at her own request in the autumn of 2021.
