Anette Novak, CEO of the Swedish Film Institute, has been appointed as a member of the interim Constituting Supervisory Board of EIT Culture & Creativity, a body of the European Union.

EIT Culture & Creativity’s mission is to inspire and facilitate collaborative innovation in the Cultural and Creative Sectors and Industries (CCSI). From culture to communities, creatives to capital, small and large entrepreneurs to markets, imagination to technology, the mission of EIT Culture & Creativity is to strengthen innovation and power Europe’s green and digital transformation. EIT Culture & Creativity brings together 50 partners from 20 European countries.

– I am extremely honoured to have been trusted to work for the creative industries in this context. Above all, this is an opportunity to influence the direction of this innovation effort at the European level. A Europe with extensive freedom of expression and artistic freedom, that puts culture at center stage, will be a long-term sustainable and successful Europe, says Anette Novak.

The interim CSB will supervise and support the EIT Culture & Creativity’s Management Team, its policy and course of action and the general conduct of affairs. The board will begin its appointments immediately and until December 2023.
