Deck 5B - Best International Short Film in Toronto

Malin Ingrid Johansson's short film Deck 5B won the award for Best International Short Film at the prestigious Toronto Film Festival.

– We are so happy and proud, Toronto is one of the world's absolute best festivals and to win among more than 5,000 submitted films is incredibly big! Malin is an amazing director and screenwriter and it's so much fun to be a part of her storytelling! says Joel Rostmark, one of the film's producers.

Deck 5B is a guilt-plaguing drama on a parking deck where we follow a mother torn between responsibility, guilt and the desire to live life to the fullest. The expectations of the successful summer vacation collide head-on with the reality of our main character.

The film is produced by Andrea Gyllenskiöld, Joel Rostmark and Adam Holmström Meinking for Pine with production funding from the Swedish Film Institute's former film commissioner Ami Ekström.

The director and screenwriter Malin Ingrid Johansson won the Startsladden last year for her short film Madden (the biggest short film award in Sweden), and was also shown at the Berlin Film Festival as well as being nominated for the national film prize the Guldbagge Award for best short film.
